Discovery Evening
Researchers at the Manitoba Museum have made some ground-breaking fossil discoveries, from giant marine reptiles to the world’s biggest trilobite. With over 3 billion years worth of rock to study, we still have much left to learn about the ancient life that inhabited our province. Find out where we’re heading next with museum Curator of Palaeontology and Geology, Dr. Joe Moysiuk. Come and learn about the latest field work and research, and get a glimpse of what’s new in the galleries.
In addition to his role at the Manitoba Museum, Dr. Moysiuk is an Adjunct Professor at University of Saskatchewan and a Research Associate at the Royal Ontario Museum. His research centers around the early fossil record of animals and body plan evolution, with field work taking him across Manitoba, British Columbia, and Ontario.
