Restoration of two large, coastal wetlands in Manitoba: Delta Marsh and Netley-Libau Marsh

Posted: Friday, August 19, 2016

Discovery Evening

Event Date: Monday, February 27, 2017

Start Time: 7:30 pm

Location: Franco-Manitoban Cultural Centre, 340 Provencher Blvd on second floor – Salle Antoine-Gaborieau.

Presenter: Dr. Gordon Goldsborough

Admission: $2 for members (non-member rate $5)

The presentation will review the work we are doing to restore vegetation in these two large marshes. At Delta Marsh, the restoration involves the exclusion of Common Carp, a destructive invasive fish species. At Netley-Libau Marsh, restoration involves the creation of shallow-water conditions necessary for reestablishment of emergent plants.
