Location / Time: Bourkevale Community Centre (100 Ferry Road) at 10:00 AM.

Description / Route: The walk will head east along the community trail which hugs the north bank of the Assiniboine River as far as Kiltartan Towers, where we will walk up to the road (due open water by St James Bridge) before continuing to the Omand’s Creek train bridge across the river.  We will head west along the Wellington Crescent trail, through Assiniboine Park to the footbridge, and back along the Assiniboine River trail to the starting point.
There will be brief stops along the route to explain a bit of the history of the area.

Distance: The walk would be about 6.5 kms and take about 2 hours. The walk is relatively flat except for a short and easy climb up towards Kiltartan Towers from the river.

Washrooms: Bourkevale Community Centre is not likely to be open. We can take a short break at Assiniboine Park Duck Pond.

Lunch: Don is open to suggestions.

Bring: Your name tag.

Activity Type: Hiking
