Outdoor Activities: Grey Hares
The Grey Hares activity on December 17 was Skating at River Heights Arena, led by Clarke Wilkie. Radio-Canada Manitoba (CBC French) was there to do a story about ageing and staying active (“Staying active in the Golden Age: Manitobans share their benefits”).
Radio-Canada Manitoba has produced a written story for their website, and also a 2-minute video story that they broadcast on their television news. The video story features
– skating action (~50% of the skaters were Grey Hares),
– an interview with Anne-Marie Dyck clipped to 6 seconds: “I’ve met so many new people. Everyone is really welcoming. And trying different things that you wouldn’t try on your own.”,
– a 5-minute interview with Kevin Miller clipped to 6 seconds: “… you have a lot more fun going out there with 20-some other people … the lonely Seniors thing doesn’t happen when you join Nature Manitoba’s Grey Hares.”,
– a longer interview with a non Grey Hares member, and
– an interview with a a neuropsychologist and professor at the University of Montreal.
