Location / Time: Meet in the Bunn’s Creek Centennial Park parking lot (365 McIvor Avenue) at 9:45 AM. The ride starts at 10:00. There are washrooms in the park’s shelter building.

Description: Winnipeg is crisscrossed by old creek beds, many of which are only visible as shallow dips in streets and parks. Explore the route and history of McLeod Creek by bicycle with Charles Burchill. Start along Bunn’s Creek Trail to get a feel for what the creeks were like. Then, heading to McLeod Creek’s confluence with the Red River at Kildonan Settler’s Bridge, follow the creek as it winds across North Kildonan and East Kildonan to the Northeast Pioneers Greenway, and possibly beyond. Return to Bunn’s Creek Centennial Park for lunch at the park’s shelter building.
This will be a relatively slow bicycle ride, looking for and following markers of the old creek. There will be some stops along the way for a bit of history and to see points of interest. The ride will be on residential streets, some back lanes, and some gravel paths. Distance: 20+ km.

Bring: Your name tag, a picnic lunch, weather appropriate clothing.
