ÂNISKÔMOHCIKAN (formerly Bridging the Gap) is thrilled to introduce our new co-coordinator Lauren MacDiarmid

Lauren MacDiarmid has loved being outdoors since childhood. Some of her most cherished memories include swimming, canoeing, and picking berries with cousins at her family cabin in the Whiteshell.

Her passion for outdoor learning was sparked when her son attended Forest School, where she witnessed firsthand the value of land-based learning for children. Through that experience, she came to understand the importance of fostering respectful relationships with the land from an early age. She believes all children deserve opportunities to learn on and with the land in a good way.

A people person and keen observer, Lauren values connection, curiosity, and noticing the small details that help others feel seen, heard, and supported. With a background in communications and education, she hopes to use her skills to help âniskômohcikan grow and continue building meaningful relationships with children, families, and community.
