In 1965 (courtesy of Walter Danyluk), Nature Manitoba was permitted to study a tract of land in Birds Hill Park to create a census of the breeding birds and the flora in the area. And in 1968, Nature Manitoba took on a project to compile a 35mm coloured slide program with accompanying script to be used by the Parks Branch to educate visitors about the flora and fauna in the area.
