NM members got together and formed the Manitoba Avian Research Committee (MARC). The aim was to collect and publish historical and current information on distribution and seasonal occurrence of all the bird species in Manitoba. MARC’s first project was the compilation of the Field Check-list of the Birds of South-Eastern Manitoba (1978)
