At the end of May, 1999, as the Mantario Wilderness Centre was preparing to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Summer Program, the organization received some very bad news. A routine flight over Mantario Lake had discovered that the cabin had burnt down! The accidental fire of unknown cause had destroyed the beloved cabin and its contents.
