Outdoor Activities: Major trips
Camp at Whirlpool Lake in Riding Moutain. Your stay can be 3 days or 4 days. Jerry (leader) will be staying for 4 days. The campsite is 50 m from the car parking area (you cannot camp by a car at Whirlpool). There is an eating shelter. The site has a very nice air-vented gravity toilet.
During the stay, there are two main activity options: (1) cycling on the Cowan Lake trail/cycling on Prov road 19 and/or (2) hiking on the Cowan lake trail/hiking on gravel roads. Cycling/hiking the Cowan Lake trail depends on the wetness of the trail. There will be a "geocache" event, with the prize being an original Paul Panton art piece (nature scene).
The trip difficulty level is marked as intermediate. However, novice campers are welcome because the camping situation is fairly safe and comfortable.
