Nature Manitoba Outings

Nature Manitoba conducts a variety of outdoor activities throughout the year. Our activities include canoeing, hiking, cycling, snowshoeing, camping, cross-country skiing, and other outdoor recreational pursuits. All Outdoor Activities are free for members, with the exception of any cabin/park fees if applicable, and the Grey Hares group is listed separately. Non-members may attend a trip or two at no cost, in order explore the option of membership. Before registering for a trip please review the safety requirements and the difficulty rating using the following Trip Rating Guidelines.

Christmas Bird Count 2018/19

This is a great opportunity to see some wintering birds in the city. Join tens of thousands of other birders across North America in this event and help contribute to our knowledge of winter bird distribution. A potluck dinner and compiling session will be held afterwards.

Full Moon Rising - Hike 'n Dine in Birds Hill Park

For Nature Manitoba members only. Hike the Lime Kiln Trail in Birds Hill Park (ca. 8 km.) starting in late afternoon, bring food for a potluck in the warming shack, then return in the evening with a full moon rising. Depending on the amount of snow and if this becomes a groomed ski trail, may have to switch locations.

Ski the rolling and forested trails of Grand Beach

Ski some of the 35 kms of sheltered trails in the spruce and pine forest on a choice of several loops. Trails are groomed with double classic tracks and a skating trail between. Note: Advise Angela if you wish a more leisurely outing and every attempt will be made to accommodate this option.

Seine River hike from Happyland Park to Whittier Park
