Despite this, a surprising number of birds can be found here in this season, from hardy resident species to irruptive visitors from the north and waifs and strays lingering beyond the autumn.  This workshop will introduce you to these birds and provide advice on helping them survive the harsh conditions.

This introductory workshop will explore all the regularly occurring warblers of Manitoba, focusing on the main field marks of breeding plumage's. We will review of migration timing and breeding range. If time allows, some of the tricky identifications during fall migration be touched on. Questions are always welcome.

There are several ways to propagate smaller plants, shrubs and trees by getting roots to grow on pieces of the original plant. You will learn about the methods and materials used, as well as what is happening inside the plant. This will help you to succeed in different situations, and may help with other aspects of horticulture as well.

Manitoba harbours a fine array of shorebirds and they will soon start to return from warmer climes. Some are difficult to identify, but with the help of this workshop, the task may be a bit easier. We will look at some slides and reference materials and we will also discuss some of the best places in Manitoba to see them.
