Location / Time: Meet at Red River Provincial Park (across from Larters at St Andrews Golf & Country Club, 30 River Road / provincial road 238). at 9:45 AM. Depart at 10:00.
Description: Cycle on the historic River River Heritage Parkway, just north of Winnipeg. There are many views of the Red River as the gently rolling road curves alongside the river.
After a brief stop at the River Road Provincial Heritage Park, we will stop at the picnic shelter at Lower Fort Garry for lunch, and then head north to Selkirk if the winds are favorable.
After looping through Selkirk Park, we will stop at Skinner's for ice cream on the way back.
Members of the group may skip the loop to Selkirk Park by returning from Lower Fort Garry (self lead).
Distance: ~45 km (4 to 5 hours). ~25 km to Lower Fort Garry and return.
Washrooms: There aren't any washrooms at the start/end location, but there are at Lower Fort Garry, Selkirk Park, and Skinner's.
Bring: A bagged lunch and your name tag.
