Description: After stopping at the Duck Pond washrooms, we will walk north with our bikes across the footbridge then proceed east along the north side of the Assiniboine River onto Wolseley Ave. We will take a brief side trip through the Canora/Ethelbert back lane murals, then work our way up to Granite Way, onto Assiniboine Ave, and over Main Street to The Forks for lunch. Returning south across the old train bridge to the rapid transit bikeway, we will turn west at the Jubilee junction to the bike path along Sterling Lyon, and finally through Assiniboine Forest. The trip will be on a mix of dedicated bike/walk trails, separated bike lanes, and city streets with traffic. There will be a number of controlled street crossings with medium to heavy traffic. Expect to be back at Assiniboine Park in the mid to late afternoon.
Distance: 28 km
