Join Jerry for a cycle camping trip in Riding Mountain National park. The Central trail up to Gunn creek campsite and most of the Grasshopper valley trail form the route. The trip will be closed on August 9 because the permit process has begun and the necessary info needs to be in to park officials by then.
A week long cycle camping that starts at ends at the bison enlosure. About 80% of the Central trail and 90% of the Grassshopper valley trail will be cycled. The shortest daily distance cycled is about 5 km and the longest about 30 km.
You have until Aug 9 to register. The Riding Moutain permit process must be engaged then.
Hike ca. 10 - 12 km. in this western provincial park and the Rapid City area. Followed by a fall dinner in Basswood. Due to the inexplicable popularity of the food component, this event is open only to NMb members. Register after September 27.
Why hike more than 10 km. in the vicinity of this French-Canadian hamlet surrounded by Mennonite villages? Because it has a fall supper and people have actually requested we do this one again. Open only to Nature MB members. Register after October 10.
Hike ca. 15 km. on the Trans Canada Trail alongside the Red River running through Emerson. Followed by a fine fall supper. Due to the popularity of the supper component, this trip is open only to Nature Manitoba members. Register after October 18.
Hike the picturesque woodland and shoreline trails and roads of Stephenfield Provincial Park west of Carman.

Hike around the Victoria Beach area and northwards on this ca. 10+ km. day trip, including steep sand dunes at Sunrise Beach. Bring your cameras as there might be some interesting early ice build-up on the lakeshore. Afterwards let's have an outdoors BBQ.
We shall hike about 14 km. on the Falcon South Shore trail from the townsite to High Lake, which is a spur section of the Trans Canada Trail, complete with a BBQ potluck afterwards. This is an all-day event due to the distance. Please register after November 14.

Ski approximately 9 km of groomed trails in Pine Falls, have lunch in the warm-up chalet, then head to the Lac du Bonnet ski trails for four loops totaling 11 km of groomed trails. Rustic warm-up shelter and outhouse available on Lac du Bonnet trails.

Camp Morton Provincial Park, just north of Gimli, has some official snowshoe trails which we will explore. We can also go to the campground area and snowshoe there, followed by a snack in Gimli.

Canoe about 10 km to east end of Kilvert Lake. Camp at point in Kilvert OR camp at Gale end of an easy 300 m portage between Kilvert and Gale. Campsite location depends on availability.
CLOSED. Trip begins in Dogtooth Lake at Dogtooth resort parking lot (involves a daily parking fee). Canoe 10 km east on Dogtooth to 500 m portage to White Lake. Scrounge around the limestone quarries in Stony Mountain and Stonewall, with the distinct possibility of legally obtaining ancient sea fossils from the Upper Ordovician Period (ca. 440 million years ago). Register after April 24.
Hike around Morden's Lake Minnewasta and visit the Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre where 83-85 mya marine fossils (all found in southwestern Manitoba) are exhibited. Register after May 7.
Hike Twin Beaches on Lake Manitoba and possible carp netting followed by a fish fry and potluck on the beach. Meet at 9 am at Polo Park Shopping Centre in front of Sears Portage Ave Side.
Join Roger Sutherland to celebrate summer solstice at 782 Taché Ave in St Boniface at 6 pm . Potluck and BBQ followed by a hike in Whittier Park along the Red and Seine Rivers and breaking bread and having wine around the Grand Old Tree.
Hike Spirit Sands, Manitoba Desert , Look for life in the sand dunes , see blooming flowers and visit the ever changing Devils Punch Bowl. We will end the hike with a potluck. Hike is between novice and intermediate depending on weather. Meet at 9 am at Polo Park Shopping Centre in front of Sears on Portage Side .
Hike Elk Island starting at Victoria Beach Provincial Park . We will be crossing a water channel . Bathing suit and water shoes are recommended ( barefoot is a possibility for crossing) as water can go up above the waist .Beautiful swimming . Possible berry picking followed by pot luck .
Meet at 9 am at Perkins parking lot at Lagimodière and Regent .
Hike Pembina Valley Provincial Park in southwest Manitoba followed by potluck . The park has steep inclines, nice river valley views and flowering meadows. Trip is close to a intermediate hike because of inclines and if you get heat.
Meet at 9 am at Polo Park Shopping Centre in front of Sears at Portage side.
Hike Pine Point Rapids and water falls followed by potluck. Meet at 9 am at McDonalds and Coop Foodstore parking lot at Fermor and Lakewood Blvd in Southdale .
We will hike either the Tilson loop or the closed birdtail or a trail of similar length and difficulty. Milaege is expected to be in the 35-40KM range with a long Saturday. All meals and gear appropriate to the season is required.
