A selection of delectable trails, starting at the stables/restaurant: an appetizer of Esker, with a taste of Chickadee, followed by a slice of Aspen, a more robust helping of Chickadee, a soupcon of Group Use Road, a tasty meander on Esker to the bush trail to a robust serving of Kiln loop, and a bracing third serving of Esker back to the parking lot.

This activity was originally scheduled for February 23, but was postponed because of the extreme cold.

Brian Hydesmith will lead an experienced group of backcountry travellers to the Mantario cabin in the heart of Whiteshell’s  Mantario Wilderness Zone. This trip is rated as advanced, requiring you to have the gear and fitness to ski 22km across open lakes and portages.

Location / Time: Meet at Grassmere Family Restaurant (3750 McPhillips St / PTH 8 at Grassmere Road, 1 km north of the North Perimeter Highway) at 9:30 AM for carpooling.

Join a group ski trip in the Mantario Wilderness of the Whiteshell Provincial Park. Trip departs Friday morning and returns Monday evening (3 nights at the cabin). Your group will ski over 6 lakes, a distance of about 20km on ungroomed trails to get to the Mantario Cabin. This trip is for those with some backcountry experience and comfortable on cross-country skis.
