11th Prairie Conservation and Endangered Species Conference (February 16-18, 2016)

Theme: “Prairie – It’s a Happening Place!”
The Prairie Conservation and Endangered Species Conference (PCESC), February 16-18, 2016, in Saskatoon, is a forum to discuss the latest issues and trends in the conservation of prairie landscapes, species, and species at risk. The conference is held once every three years in a Canadian prairie city. It is attended by approximately 350 participants from across Western Canada and the Northern Plains states. It attracts a very diverse audience, including producers, policy makers and planners at all levels of government, conservation and other NGOs, researchers and graduate students from a wide array of disciplines. Join colleagues and meet new people from the Prairies and Northern Great Plains who are helping to conserve native prairie and to recover endangered species!
We invite you to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations. Our conference will have four sets of concurrent sessions guided by the following four topic areas. There will also be a dedicated room and session for poster presentations.
- Status, trends, threats, and issues
- Protection and conservation
- Restoration and recovery
- Connecting and motivating people to wonder, care, and act.
For your submission, please send a word document to pcesc2016@gmail.com with presentation title (less than 15 words), abstract (less than 200 words), list of authors and affiliations, and a contact email address for the main author and/or presenter. Please make sure abstracts clearly address one or more of the subthemes. Oral presentations are expected to be approximately 15 minutes long, with additional time for questions. Posters will be up for both days of the main conference program.
Deadline for submissions of abstracts is September 4 (end of the day). You will be contacted with the results by late October. Please keep in mind that successful presenters will be expected to work closely with the Editor of the conference proceedings and adhere to their guidelines.
