Please note: this trip to the Winnipeg River and Spruce Siding this Saturday, April 30th, has been cancelled because of existing poor road conditions and a worsening weather forecast.

Winnipeg River and environs, plus evening foray to Spruce Siding Road. Peter Taylor and Rudolf Koes will lead this outing, which combines the traditional Winnipeg River outing with the owl and woodcock outing. Meet at 4 p.m. at the big empty lot on First Street opposite Casey’s Inn and Corner Auto in Lac du Bonnet. If arriving via PR. 317, cross straight over Hwy. 11, continue for just under 1 km, turn left onto First Street to the lot. The outing will last until after dark. We’ll search for loons, grebes, ducks, raptors and other migrants along the Winnipeg River and then make our way to Spruce Siding Road where we hope to see and or hear owls and woodcocks.
