Please join me on a paddle from the Lagimodiere- Gaboury Park ( the meeting point at 10 am )  and canoe upstream and come back downstream . Total paddling is 2-3 hours long .

With the recent rain the river level should be good.

Canoe English River country (FULL)

 Join Jerry for a 2 week canoe trip starting at Caribou Falls Power dam, travelling to the southern boundary of Woodland Caribou park (Sydney Lake) and then returning to the power dam launch site. The trip involves about 200 km of paddling (2 x 100 each way) and a total of about 10 portages (2 x 5 each way). GO TO READ MORE.

Paddle down the Brokenhead River

Near Vivian and Nourse on Highway 15, which is close to Winnipeg. This upper section of the Brokenhead is best paddled in May or June. The Brokenhead canoe routes are well described in “Through Field and Forest: A Canoe Companion for the Brokenhead River” by Dusty Moulinski. Note: This is a new exploratory trip for the Grey Hares.

Dragon Boating on the Red River

Dragon Boating on the Red River.  Try something new or experience it all over again! Paddles and PFD’s supplied. Start/end at Canoe/Kayak Club, 80 Churchill Drive. Cost about $100.00 for equipment rental, split between # of participants. Dragon boat can accommodate 20 paddlers.

Join Jerry for a canoe and camping trip at the edge of the ELA. Start at Robinson L and end at Ethelma L. (Involves a 2 km road walk back for drivers after driving cars to Ethelma landing.) Paddle Pinawa Channel

This is an intermediate to possibly advanced canoe and kayak, full day trip down the scenic Pinawa Channel from the town of Pinawa to the Old Pinawa Dam Historic Park site (provincial park pass required).  It includes fast water through rocky areas, rapids and at least one portage. We will have lunch on the way and tour the old dam site at the takeout.

Mantario Cabin work party June 18-22

The Mantario Cabin is looking for volunteers to help prepare the cabin for the summer program. Most work involved is cutting  and hauling wood type of chores but there is never any shortage of tasks . Meals are included and participants have some leisure time to swim and  use the sauna  with a great bunch of people.

Mantario Cabin work party
