Canoeing ethnobotanist Donna Kurt, invites participants to experience Mantario Wilderness Zone's earthly photogenic delights on mushroom forays to see how they fit into the area's diverse ecosystems with other flora and fauna and as foods and medicines.  Optional activities include forest bathing, hiking and canoeing skills.

Trip Leader:

Donna Kurt is an ethnobotanist, amateur mycologist, and active canoeist who has been paddling various waterways in North America and Australia since 1986 including leading canoe trips to Mantario since 1989.  Donna enjoys sharing her knowledge and skills, including some of her youtube videos of Mantario canoeing adventures which provide some insight to the area's natural beauty, as well as other destinations.

SWOOP through the river trail from The Forks. MARVEL at the biodiversity of Riverton Street. ZOOM northbound on the Northeast Pioneer's Greenway. TRAVERSE the winding cool trail at Bunn's Creek. Be ASTOUNDED at the painted bridges. And return to The Forks by traveling through a SPOOKY cemetery.

On Riverton Street in a 2 block strip, there are at least 11 different tree plantings. The first person to identify 7 will be treated to a beverage of their choice by dbaniak on return to The Forks.

Muster at The Forks at the picnic tables south of the skating pavilion at 11:00 AM. Depart at 11:15 sharp. Lunch break at Bunn's Creek Centennial Park around noon.  The ride is approximately 30 km.

Remember to bring a credit card as some vendors at The Forks do not accept cash ... and hope Rogers doesn't have another meltdown.

Enrollment is limited to 17 people. Bring your name tag.
