Who Am I?

Our yard is fenced and this bird does not seen to fly. It's body was about 12 inches high,
it had long legs about 12 to 16 inches long. It has a wide wing span maybe 18 inches.
It had a few feather on it's wind, but just long fuzz covering the body.
We called a friend to pick up the bird, as we were leaving for the weekend. I have not heard what happen.
